A large-scale drug awareness effort in Italy has gone beyond more than one million informational booklets distributed in recent weeks. The initiative forms part of the international Truth About Drugs education programme, which aims to provide accessible knowledge about commonly abused substances and their short- and long-term effects.
Approximately 500 volunteers are participating in the outreach effort, distributing materials in public spaces, shops and community areas.
